What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a hands on approach to healthcare that acknowledges the significant link between the structures of your body & the way it functions. Osteopaths focus on how your skeleton, joints, muscles, nerves and circulation work together to improve your health & well-being. Osteopaths are unique in that we can help the body to return to optimal mobility and function by addressing the cause of the problem and not just the symptoms you are experiencing.
Osteopaths use an array of techniques such as gentle joint mobilisation, massage, resistance stretching and various other techniques to assist patients in achieving normal pain-free movement by correcting underlying dysfunction. Osteopaths practicing in Australia have completed a 5-year university degree where they were taught current accepted models of neurologic and orthopaedic diagnosis. We are primary care practitioners you do not need a referral to see an osteopath.
